Gay Marriage
In April of 2009 the Iowa Supreme Court ruled that marriage between people of the same sex was a constitutional right to equal treatment under the law. The court found no compelling reason for the government to prohibit such marriages. This unleashed a political storm across the United States evan as Vermont, legalized gay marriage and New York was moving in that direction.
