The Insider Sessions are inspired by the emotion, power, and soul that go into one, simple song. The aim is to get closer and more personal to the music and the art. The acoustic sound, I believe, is perfect for this. It allows you to hear only instruments, only voice, no background fuzz, and nothing channeling the noise but our own ears. The artists will choose their own place to play, sometimes in a van, sometimes on a bus, sometimes simply in an alley way; either way each session is authentic and personal. So take a look at these artists, some are from Iowa, some just passing through, and as you'll sometimes find, just getting started. Listen and enjoy the sounds that erupt throughout our beautiful state.

This weekend Baber’s had a special guest. They were hosting a famous banjo player, Bob, who played throughout the seventies with Bill Monroe. He is a legend and he played like he is never planning on stopping. Mr. Baber’s Neighbors met up with Insider after their show, and before their guest needed to take off for the weekend. We found a nice shaded area in the back of the campgrounds and the boys had a good old time just jamming while fans gathered around with their lawn chairs and savored the special show. They played a Baber’s original and an old time bluegrass jam. They also invited another special guest into this performance, as you’ll see. It was an acquaintance of Bob’s that just happened to have his banjo handy when we were getting started!
